Cohort Learning
Daniel A. Lipson Leadership Development Fellowship:
Are you interested in learning more about leadership theories, Jewish values, and creating your own personal leadership style? If the answer to that question is yes, then this may just be the course for you! Join BJC Assistant Director Paige for an 8-week leadership development fellowship. We will explore areas that include everyday leadership, effective communication, organization and time management skills, using your values to lead, and concrete strategies to implement change. We will meet over Zoom each week over dinner and each fellow will receive a $150.00 stipend towards a Jewish or Leadership experience |
Hillel Jewish Leadership Institute:
Calling all First-Year Students: Apply to be part of the Hillel Jewish Leadership Institute this semester! HJLI is a fellowship opportunity for current first year students to build leadership and professional skills while connecting with the Jewish community at UVA on a deeper level. The program will run for 9 weeks beginning the week of February 21st. Applications are due by 11:59pm on February 10th. Have questions? Reach out to Jewish Leadership Advisory Chair Matt Gillam with questions. |
Jewish Learning Fellowship
Join Rabbi Jake for the Jewish Learning Fellowship (JLF). JLF is a 9-week experiential conversational seminar for students looking to deepen their understanding of Judaism on their own terms. We’re interested in asking big questions. You, know the big stuff – like Who am I? What communities am I a part of? What is worth committing myself to and why? We make no claims about the “right” way to practice or not to practice Judaism. Our job is to help you explore the tradition in a safe space and find your own place, on your terms, in Judaism’s Great Conversation. Fellows will earn a $180.00 stipend. |

Jewish Outreach Groupme
This is for people interested in attending other cultural groups’ events with fellow WaJews (virtually for now, but eventually in person). We promise you won’t be spammed with events—we just want to create a community interested in exploring what other student groups are doing, and particularly in supporting the efforts of other minority groups. |
Groupme Chats
We know that students can build community online just as well as they do in person, which is why our student leaders are working on building cohorts of like-minded WaJews. Check out the groups below and join their Groupme chats to learn more!
