Planned Giving Opportunities with the Brody Jewish Center
Why Planned Giving?
The Brody Jewish Center, Hillel at the University of Virginia, is the heart of Jewish life for over 900 Jewish undergraduate students on Grounds. It is a warm, pluralistic "home away from home" where students build lasting relationships, explore their Jewish identity, and grow into leaders.
To ensure our Hillel continues to be strong for future generations of Hoos, the Brody Jewish Center welcomes planned and legacy gifts to our organization. We do this because:
To ensure our Hillel continues to be strong for future generations of Hoos, the Brody Jewish Center welcomes planned and legacy gifts to our organization. We do this because:
- 100% Privately Funded: The Brody Jewish Center receives no direct operational funding from the University of Virginia. We rely entirely on the generosity of alumni, parents, and friends to keep our doors open.
- The Foundation for Tomorrow's Hillel: Legacy gifts support our endowment, creating a permanent financial foundation that shields the Brody Jewish Center from economic shifts and guarantees a permanent, thriving Jewish community at UVA.
- Securing Student Leadership: By investing in our future, you ensure that UVA’s unique culture of student self-governance and Hillel’s strong mentorship infrastructure continues to shape independent, resilient Jewish leaders.
The Ner Tamid SocietyThe Ner Tamid (Eternal Light) hangs above the ark in every sanctuary, including at the Brody Jewish Center, symbolizing G-d's eternal, abiding presence, the enduring light of the Torah, and as a reminder of our own inner fire of goodness, love, and light that will never be extinguished.
The Ner Tamid Society honors those visionary individuals and families who have made a legacy commitment to the Brody Jewish Center. By naming the Center in your estate plans, you ensure that the flame of Jewish life at UVA will burn brightly for generations to come. Members of the Ner Tamid Society will be honored in the Brody Jewish Center’s annual impact report and on our website. Members will also be provided special opportunities to hear the latest from Grounds and other unique programs as they are possible. |
