Lag Baomer Bonfire! 4/29 7-9pm
Save the date for our Lag BaOmer bonfire celebration on April 29th from 7 - 9 pm. We'll have smores and celebrate this fun Jewish holiday safely as a community! What a perfect way to end the year together.

3for5s from 3-5 Thursday 4/22 at 3pm
Third years! Join Annie on the TOG (Triangle of Grass) this Thursday from 3-5pm to hang out and talk about  your impending fourth year of college (Yes, we know, so sad) and how to make the most of it. We'll enjoy a selection of 3 for 5 apps from the one and only Sheetz on the Corner and decide one and for all which appetizer combination is the best.

What better way to celebrate Earth Day than outside with your WaJew besties eating snacks.

Feel free to stop by whenever you'd like! we'll have apps and picnic blankets

Purim with the BJC

Celebrate Purim with the BJC by fulfilling the four mitzvot (commandments) of Purim!

Wednesday, Feb. 24
from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm:
Grab a pre-made Purim gift bag (mishloach manot) filled with hamentashen and chocolate-covered pretzels for yourself and friends while you're at bagels (2/24). 

Wednesday, Feb. 17 - Friday, Feb. 26: 
Give support to those who need help: join us in supporting the UVA Food Pantry. Venmo @HillelatUVA with the title "Purim + UVA Food Pantry". We will be matching donations made at the conclusion of the giving week!

Friday, Feb. 26: 
Take part in a festive meal. Join us for our first HillelFresh meal of the semester! ​We'll have the Mizrahi dish of Sambusak with a Caesar salad or Garden salad (this is a dairy meal)​

Friday, Feb. 26 at 5:00 pm: 
Listen to the Megillah also known as the "Book of Esther." Join us as student leaders interpret the Megillah with a modern twist and some special guests! Check out our Shabbat Joom page for the link!

First Year Game Night 2/20 @6pm

​Calling all first-years!
This Saturday, February 20th, join Todd, Josh, Shirley, and Noa on Zoom at 6 PM for a fun night of trivia and other games. Game night is the perfect opportunity to de-stress and socialize with the engagement interns and other first years.

Looking for a way to celebrate Hanukkah from the comfort of your home?

Join JLAB and the rest of the BJC squad for 8 nights of Hanukkah celebrations on Zoom :O. Each night, we'll be hosting a different Hanukkah activity to get you in the holiday spirit. Check back soon for more information on sign ups and Zoom links!

Hanukkah Harry 

Sign up by Thanksgiving Break using this form if you want to be involved in the gift exchange! We will send you a website to put your gift wish list on and that will match you with someone after all the interest forms are received. You should send your Hanukah Harry/ Mystery Moses/ Mystery Mordechai gift to be received by the first day of Hanukkah, December 11. We will do a gift reveal on Zoom over Hanukah. ​

Finals+Hanukkah Care Packages

With finals around the corner, we want to send you a little something from us when you're at home!
Sign-up by Thursday, Nov. 19th. to receive a finals care package from the Brody Jewish Center.

Commonwealth Kiddush Cup 2020

Do you love talking to people? Are you super organized, well connected, and have (or want!) experience phone banking?
Do you want to make sure UVA beats Virginia Tech at every chance we get? 

We're looking for some student volunteers to help with the Commonwealth Kiddush Cup, our annual fundraising competition against Hillel at Virginia Tech. Volunteers will get experience working in fundraising and stakeholder engagement.

Hillel Movie Nights

We're excited to be offering Hillel Movie nights to our students!

Each movie will feature a Jew-ish theme or actor and the night will be complete with special movie theater kits that you can pick up on Friday. Students who register will get to vote on which movie they want to watch.
