The Jefferson Society

The Jefferson Society is a group of dedicated individuals who want to guarantee the strength and vibrancy of the Jewish community at UVA for years to come. By establishing a legacy through a bequest or planned gift, Jefferson Society members are building a foundation for future generations of Jewish students at UVa. Together with your support, we will continue to strengthen the Jewish identities of UVa students long into their adult lives.

​Why create a legacy for Jewish life at UVA?

• Since 1939 Hillel has provided Jewish students at UVA a home away from home
• The Brody Jewish Center creates a welcoming and pluralistic community for all Jewish students on Grounds
• Capitalizing on UVA's tradition of student-self governance, Hillel gives students the knowledge and tools to be the Jewish community leaders of tomorrow
• Hillel at UVA is privately funded solely through the generosity of parents, alumni, community, foundations, and federations

Legacy gifts will establish an Endowment for Jewish Life at UVA, ensuring Jewish students at UVA will always have a strong, vibrant community.  Legacy gifts can be made through bequests, retirement plans, life insurance plans, or charitable gift annuities.
