Annie Weinberg, Executive Director

Annie Weinberg is honored to be the next Executive Director of the Brody Jewish Center, Hillel at the University of Virginia. As Executive Director, Annie looks forward to furthering the Brody Jewish Center’s mission to empower the next generation of Jewish young adults. Over her five years of experience at UVA Hillel, Annie has created leadership development programs, led educational courses, completely re-imagined the First Year WaJew experience, and had countless coffee meetings with students from across UVA. Day to day you’ll find her on the Corner meeting interns for coffee, in Clem Library for her weekly Kvetch&Kvell sessions with students, coaching and mentoring our early-career professionals, or on the Lawn handing out bagels every Wednesday (best day of the week)! Annie has the experience and passion to lead the Brody Jewish Center to new heights, and takes over as Executive Director at a moment where her ability to connect with students and alumni will have a lasting impact on UVA’s Jewish community.

Annie joined the Brody Jewish Center team as a Development Associate in 2019 after graduating from the University of Virginia with a B.S.Ed in Youth & Social Innovation and a B.A. in Psychology. After completing the Springboard Innovation Fellowship and earning a Master's degree in Nonprofit Studies from the University of Richmond in 2022, Annie continued her work at the BJC as the Director of Jewish Student Life before serving as Assistant Director and Co-Managing Director during the 2023-2024 school year. She is passionate about the nonprofit sector, fostering healthy workplace culture, building community among young adults, and empowering college students to grow personally and professionally.

Annie considers herself an expert on finding the hidden gems of Charlottesville and good coffee wherever her travels take her. She spends her free time traveling around the world and visiting her countless close friends across the country. Annie sat on the Board of the Rudlin Torah Academy in Richmond from 2022-2024, where she attended Jewish day school for 9 years, and is an active alumna and volunteer with BBYO.

Truman Brody-Boyd, Associate Director

Truman is incredibly excited to be working as the BJC's Associate Director. Truman graduated from UVA in 2019 with B.A.s in Genocide Studies and Middle Eastern Studies, and spent many, many hours at the BJC while a student. He began his career as a Social Justice Fellow at Boston University’s Hillel before returning to UVA to work in their Advancement office. Truman served as a Bicentennial Ambassador, and then an Assistant Director of Development at the School of Engineering before joining the BJC team. He finds meaning in harnessing parents, alumni, and community member energy and resources to support the mission and the work of the BJC.

Truman is a lifelong lover of the study of history, and in his free time can be found reading, exploring with friends, hanging with his cat Monty, cheering on the Hoos (as any former CavMan must do!), or rolling dice for Dungeons and Dragons or another tabletop game at the game store he co-owns on Charlottesville's Downtown Mall. He is currently working on a Master's in Higher Education Administration through the University of Virginia.
