Hello from Jamaica!

This is the first of seven blog trips from the Brody Jewish Center's ASB trip to Jamaica! Because there are 7 participants and we have 7 fun-filled days, each day a different student will be blogging about their experience.

Today you hear from Sama Crouch:
The group arrived in Montego Bay jamaica after an easy day of traveling. We were picked up by Mathias Brown, who has worked for the Association of Clubs here in Galloway since it’s inception 32 years ago. Driving on the left side of the road (not the wrong side), was a little scary at first. 
Jamaica is very lush and green, and we got to see chickens, dogs, goats, and humans all along the side of the road. We even spotted the Chabad near the cruise port! 
After arriving at the AOC, we were greeted warmly and served dinner immediately. We got to eat rice and beans, different kinds of meat, pasta salad, and lots of fresh fruit.

We had an orientation to go over the itinerary, which got us very excited for the trip. Jenna kept being referred to as the "smallest group leader ever!" 
After orientation, we got to meet our host families, and my host mother’s name is Mama K. She was very kind to us, and we got to meet her dog, Ben. We also had the opportunity to try local bananas, which are slightly sweeter than the ones at home, and we got to hear about her past students that she’s hosted from all around the country. 
My favorite part of the day was getting to meet an Olympic gold medalist curler at the BWI airport and getting to see scenery as we drove through Jamaica.  ​
